ABOUT
When someone asks me what I do, this is the simplest answer I can give:
I talk to people about their lives; to understand their challenges, obstacles and frustrations, so that I can make suggestions, share anecdotal stories and ask questions that offer the opportunity for insight and solutions to emerge. I offer inspiration, motivation and philosophy that encourages people to be empowered and excited about their lives.
Currently I'm touring the United States on "Sonya" a 1940's style motorcycle with a sidecar, discussing and researching the benefits of Optimism. This useful style of thinking is the ability to understand life's challenges and setbacks in a productive way. When you learn to live life as a true optimist you can handle any setback because challenges are not permanent, pervasive or personal. Optimism is an essential strategy to live a satisfying and happy life.
I talk to individuals and groups of all sizes, typically to people who
are looking for greater success, going through challenging times, or
are interested in positive change.
Background:
As a Clinical Psychologist, I have been consulting and speaking for over 10 years. My perspective has been shaped by my South African upbringing and martial arts training, intertwined with entrepreneurial
and creative pursuits. I've worked with small businesses, large corporations and nonprofits to facilitate development and improve workplace morale and productivity. As a Life Consultant, I have enjoyed assisting individuals to achieve great success, happiness and well
being.
I cofounded Shin Wellness, a comprehensive wellness center in Miami,
FL, and also worked in many healthcare settings including hospitals,
community clinics, correctional facilities, and with peak performance companies.
Simply put, I use humor, anecdotes and simple strategies to empower others to live happy and meaningful lives.
